The Color Burst:
The 3.58 MHz signal is added to a black and white video signal to add color information.
The color burst frequency is too high to be detected by black and white monitors ensuring        compatibility. Unfortunately the high frequency color burst is the first part of the video signal
to be lost by wire attenuation. 

 

 

   
   
   
   
While in Color Burst mode "CB" we are measuring the High Frequency
color burst amplitude of the back porch. The VM-417 has the ability
to read 0-100 IRE while in this mode, an optimum level is 40 IRE.
